Michigan ended 2020 with the worst jobs loss in the U.S. But that hasn’t stopped Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s administration from imposing even more restrictions on the state’s small businesses.
On Feb. 22, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services issued a memo notifying cigar and vaping lounges to cease allowing smoking on their premises, effectively barring them from conducting business.
Michigan cigar lounges are only the latest targets of Whitmer’s controversially heavy-handed COVID-19 policies, which have already devastated the state’s restaurant and bar industries. It’s time to stand up for Michigan small businesses and end this overreach.
